Today, Napanee’s Avril Lavigne released her latest video from the Goodbye Lullaby album: “Wish You Were Here” (video embedded below), a song written by Lavigne along with Martin Max and Johan Karl Schuster.

This release marks the third video from her album, following productions for the songs “What the Hell” and “Smile“.

The ballads video features a sparse set which makes the singer appear especially isolated and vulnerable while singing to the ballad, and yesterday Lavigne tweeted about her tears to fans, saying “the tears are real… no onions!!”.

During production of the video in early August, her Twitter followers were treated to two photos posted by the star and an entry written right after shooting one of the more emotional scenes:

"Just balled my eyes out for 20 mins on set of my new video Wish You Were Here"

Lavigne is currently on tour in Europe, finishing up in Italy and moving on next to concerts in France. The singer has also created an eBay listing to auction off the opportunity to receive two tickets to not only meet Avril, but also to sing on stage with her during the Black Star tour.  Two dates are listed in the auction (set to end September 9) are September 17 at “Le Zenith” in Paris, and on September 22 at the “Hammersmith Apollo” in London.

Net proceeds from the auction will benefit the Avril Lavigne Foundation – a registered charity that supports children and youth living with serious illnesses and disabilities.

The multi-talented artist will also have her Abbey Dawn clothing line appear at Fashion Week in New York City this week being modeled by Kylie Jenner, the half-sister of Lavigne’s boyfriend Brody Jenner and youngest child of Kris and Bruce Jenner.

Lavigne continues her Black Star tour of Europe and has announced dates for Canadian concerts as well – although no ‘home town’ appearance in Kingston is currently listed.
