Public Input Sought for Kingston Parking Practices

The public is invited to attend a presentation on innovative solutions to parking problems. An open meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in the Press Lounge at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, 53 Yonge St.

The meeting is being facilitated by Todd Litman, founder and Executive Director of the Victoria Transport Policy Institute – an independent research organization – and the author of  “Parking Management Best Practices.”  Litman will explore the role that more efficient parking management can play in supporting Kingston’s development, sustainability and transportation goals. He will also describe specific parking management strategies and how to select the best combination of strategies for a particular situation.

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss parking concerns and offer input into the development of a parking strategy for Kingston. This presentation will be of interest to public officials, businesses, developers, planners, transportation engineers and anyone interested in exploring best practices in parking management.
