Kingston Hydro and Utilities Kingston are pleased to advise electricity customers that they will soon see the Ontario Clean Energy Benefit credit on their electricity bills.
In November 2010, the Ontario Government announced the 10 per cent credit for all residential and small business customers in Ontario.
Starting early next week, Kingston Hydro customers will begin to receive bills for energy consumption that has occurred after Jan.1, 2011. Customers should keep in mind that the first bill issued after January 1st may include charges for both December 2010 and January 2011. In these situations, electricity charges will be pro-rated and the credit will apply to the portion of the bill that occurred after Jan.1, 2011. Every bill after that should reflect 2011 consumption only and the 10 per cent credit will apply to the full amount of the electricity charges including HST.
