The Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) recently took possession of its fourth FireStorm 50′ constructed by Kingston’s MetalCraft Marine, featuring even more advanced technology to aid in fire fighting and search and rescue.

The new Firestone is the first to boast twin Volvo D13 1,000 HP diesels and is propelled by the first Marine Jet Power 310X mixed flow waterjets installed in North America, according to MarineLog.com. Its lighter weight engines and jets, which also produce higher thrust, can propel the boat to a top speed of 44.5 knots.

Built-in technology includes three 16” screens and one 8” screen which can display all camera systems, including stabilized FLIR M Series night vision camera, integration with remote drone control, and internet access. The new FireStorm also incorporates the Rhotheta R,T-500 M – the latest in Radio Direction Finding technology that can ‘both interpret the radio hex code of a mayday call but also pinpoint the location via Doppler technology’, MarineLog reports.
