Beginning today, building permit applications can be filed online using the City of Kingston’s Development and Services Hub (DASH).
The ability to apply for building permits is the newest feature added to DASH. The hub has been used by builders and residents since 2015 to submit planning applications and to see where building projects have been planned in the city.
Along with submitting permit applications, DASH also allows users to view application status updates, manage and store application files online, and schedule inspections on-the-go with a smartphone-friendly interface.

“We designed DASH’s online building permit process to make applying for a permit faster, seamless and so much more convenient,” said Lisa Capener-Hunt, manager, building services and chief building official. “Regardless of the size of your building project, DASH helps guide you through the permit application process and allows you to view information and request inspections online as well.”
More information, including details on whether you need a permit for planned work, can be found on the City’s Building Permits page.
