RELEASE — Calling all teen writers and teens who want to write but aren’t quite sure how to turn their ideas into a book!

Canadian author Emily Victoria is joining with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library and the Juvenis Festival to help you perfect your plot.

Victoria is the author of This Golden Flame and a talented writer of young adult science fiction and fantasy. Her workshop, The Plot Thickens, focuses on youth ages 13-17 and features tried-and-true methods to plot out your novel and some tips and tricks to avoid common plotting mistakes.

“So many young writers struggle with crafting the plot for their books,” Victoria said. “However, the actual fundamentals of plotting are quite straightforward. Through this workshop, I hope to give young writers the tools they need to get their amazing stories out onto the page.”

“Teens in Kingston-Frontenac are creative and talented,” added Kristen Lemay, KFPL Librarian, Teen and New Adult Programming. “We are excited to offer this opportunity for them to further develop their writing skills with help from a knowledgable YA author.”

The program, which requires free registration, is happening virtually through Zoom on Wednesday, April 27 from 6-7 p.m. –  Register online.
