A message from from Kingston Mayor, Mark Gerretsen:
This weekend marks the 14th annual Taste of Kingston food festival. On Saturday, July 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Kingstonians and visitors alike can come down to Confederation Park, across from City Hall, 216 Ontario St., to explore and taste food dishes from local restaurants.
Taste of Kingston showcases our culinary diversity and is enjoyed by thousands each year. Many thanks to the organizing committee from the regional office of The Canadian Diabetes Association, as well as the many dedicated volunteers for their hard work in the preparation of this event. All proceeds from Taste of Kingston benefit the work of the Canadian Diabetes Association in our community.
Festivities include music and entertainment, as well as informational displays from the Kingston Fire Department, Kingston Police, and many more. There will also be a Fun Zone for kids set up on Ontario Street with proceeds benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Kingston. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring a bag of gently used clothing, for the Clothesline Program, in exchange for free food tickets used to sample the dishes being offered.
Residents who want to add some green to their weekend activities are encouraged to travel by transit, visit www.cityofkingston.ca/tripplanner for more information.
Wishing you a safe and happy weekend.
Mark Gerretsen,
Mayor
