South Frontenac Township employees will move into temporary office spaces in August as construction begins on the expanded Town Hall and municipal offices in Sydenham.
Starting August 8 at noon, the Building and Planning reception will relocate to the Storrington Centre administrative offices at 3910 Battersea Road. The Building and Planning department will be closed on the morning of August 8 and will reopen to the public at noon. The Storrington Centre will remain available for community group bookings.
On August 16 at 8 a.m., the main Reception and Treasury department will move to the Sydenham Library Community Room at 4412 Wheatley Street. There will be no impact on the Township’s Public Services department, which is located at 2490 Keeley Road. Council and Committee meetings will relocate to the Storrington Centre starting in September.
The Sydenham Library will continue to operate on its regular schedule, although there will be reduced parking for library visitors, with on-street parking available. The Sydenham Library Community Room will be unavailable for booking during this period.
During the expansion, some employees will work remotely. Residents are encouraged to visit the “We’re Moving” page on the Township website for specific contact information for teams and individuals and to utilize online payment options.
The construction is expected to take one year and will increase the municipal offices’ size to over 13,000 square feet. The expansion will include additional workstations, meeting rooms, reception areas, and accessibility enhancements.
