Kingston Transit to Hire Ten Bus Operators

Ten new Bus Operators are slated to be hired by Kingston Transit as part of its expanding Express service for the city.

An information session will be held at Kingston Transit’s Operations Centre, 1181 John Counter Blvd., from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10.

“If you have great people skills, are customer-friendly and have a safe driving record, please come and see us. Kingston Transit will train you and help you upgrade your licence,” said Manager of Kingston Transit, Jeremy DaCosta.

People interested in applying can go online to http://www.kingstontransit.ca and take the Bus Operator Recruitment Self-Quiz and complete an application.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 18.

Qualifications sought by Kingston Transit for these positions include having a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education, and two years of experience working in a customer service occupation. A valid G licence with at least five years driving experience is also required, and successful candidates will be trained to be upgraded from a G to a CZ licence.
