Kingston Offering a Variety of March Break Activities

So many things to do, so little time… an action packed day camp plus daily swims, skates, and shinny are all being offered by the City of Kingston over March Break.

Below is a schedule of activities to help residents plan their week.

MARCH BREAK CAMP
An action-packed day camp running from March 11 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. combining  daily swims, games, crafts, sports and theme days for children 6 to 12 years-old at Beechgrove Complex Recreation Centre. The cost is $30 a day.  Extended Supervision is available for $5.75 a day (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). PUBLIC SKATING
Cost: Child (12 and under) $2.50 Student (13-17 years)/Senior (65+) $3, Adult $3.75. Grade 5 & 9 students: flash your ActivPass to get in free (see the Kingston Gets Active website for more information)

– Sunday, March 10 at the Memorial Centre, 303 York St., from12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
– Monday, March 11 at the INVISTA Centre, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
– Monday, March 11 at the INVISTA Centre, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:20 p.m.
– Tuesday, March 12 at the Memorial Centre, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m
– Tuesday, March 12 at Centre 70, 100 Days Rd., from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
– Wednesday, March 13 at the INVISTA Centre, from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
– Wednesday, March 13 at the Memorial Centre, from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
– Thursday, March 14 at the INVISTA Centre, from 2 p.m.to 3:45 p.m.
– Thursday, March 14 at Centre 70, from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.
– Friday, March 15 at the INVISTA Centre, from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
– Friday, March 15 at Centre 70, from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
– Saturday, March 16 at the INVISTA Centre, from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
– Sunday, March 17 at the Memorial Centre, from 12 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

SUPERVISED YOUTH CO-ED SHINNY HOCKEY
Full hockey equipment required. Cost: $7.25 per visit.

– Monday, March 11 at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd. – ages 7 to 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., and ages 10 to 12 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.
– Tuesday, March 12 at the Memorial Centre, 303 York St. – ages 7 to 9, from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., and ages 10 to 12, from 11 to 11:50 a.m.
– Wednesday, March 13 at the INVISTA Centre – ages 7 to 9, from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., and ages 10 to 12, from 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.
– Thursday, March 14 at the Memorial Centre – ages 7 to 9, from 12 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., and ages 10 to 12, from 1 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.
– Friday, March 15 at the INVISTA Centre – ages 7 to 9, from 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m., and ages 10 to12, from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.

PARENT & TOT SKATING/SHINNY HOCKEY (split the ice)
Cost: Tots age 6 and under $2.50, Seniors: $3, Adults $3.75

March 11 to 15 at the INVISTA Centre, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.

Tots must wear a helmet with screen and we recommend wearing hockey equipment.  Adults must wear a helmet when playing shinny. Please bring your own rubber puck. No hard pucks or strollers permitted on the ice.

PARENT & TOT SKATING (no shinny hockey)
Cost: Tots age 6 and under $2.50, Seniors: $3, Adults $3.75

March 10 and 17 at the INVISTA Centre, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The FITZONE at the INVISTA Fitness and Wellness Centre is an active zone for 7 to 15 year olds wanting to get active while having fun – game bikes, dance pads, wii stations, and a fitness circuit. Cost: $5.30 per visit. Children 7 to 9 must be accompanied by an adult (3:1 caregiver to child ratio).
