Business Development
Jennifer Baker, Business Development Project Manager is attending the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) in Toronto on October 17 -18 with the Ontario East Economic Development Commission.
CMTS is Canada’s premier national manufacturing event and Ontario East along with regional members have secured a trade show booth to showcase regional opportunities.
Tourism Kingston
Connie Markle, Conferences and Travel Trade Manager attended the annual Travel Trade Canada’s Silver Show in Ottawa on October 13. Markle has scheduled meetings with 47 pre-qualified meeting planners who are interested in Kingston as a venue for a future meeting, conference or corporate event.
The launch of the 2012 Tourism Kingston Partnership Program is scheduled for Thursday, November 17 at 3pm at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront.
Partnership in Tourism Kingston’s Program is free for all Kingston-based tourism businesses and includes the opportunity to participate in Kingston’s official Online Reservation System; subscription to the monthly Tourism Insider e-newsletter; invitations to Tourism Kingston events; and, an enhanced web listing on Kingston’s Official Tourism Website www.kingstoncanada.com.
The launch will also provide information on co-operative advertising opportunities for 2012, including sales for the Kingston Visitor Guide which is published in partnership with Kingston Publications.
Corporate
The next meeting of the KEDCO Board of Directors will take place on Monday, October 22 at 5pm in the Innovation Park Boardroom. On the agenda is review of the proposed 2012 budget as well as a briefing from Rob Wood, CEO of 8020Info on the Conference Centre Feasibility Study commissioned by KEDCO earlier this year.
Derek Winton, Chair of the KEDCO Board of Directors along with Donna Gillespie, Marketing & Communications Manager will be participating in the City of Kingston Volunteer Recruitment Information Sharing Session taking place in Memorial Hall on Wednesday, October 19.
While there are currently no vacancies coming up on the KEDCO Board of Directors for the 2012 term, Winton and Gillespie will be on hand to provide information on KEDCO and opportunities for interested community members to become involved.
