KEDCO and HGS Canada are excited to announce the dates of an upcoming job fair where the Contact Centre company, HGS Canada, will evaluate the local employment market.

The event is scheduled for May 3-4 at St. Lawrence College and is part of the site selection process for the company who is looking at a potential new 500-employee site in the area. HGS Canada offers technical support, inbound sales, customer care and customer loyalty in English and French languages and employs over 2,500 people at ten sites in Canada.

KEDCO is a promotional partner of the upcoming Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) Ontario Manufacturing Strategy Roundtable Session that will take place on Tuesday, March 19 at Bombardier Transportation, 5095 Taylor Kidd Blvd.

The event will begin at 10:00am and will provide an update on the strategy and challenges facing manufacturers in Ontario. Registration for this event is free however is limited to manufacturing companies.

On March 9, Jeff Garrah, CEO, will attend the Natural Products Expo West trade show at the Anaheim Convention Centre in California, USA. Natural Products Expo West is the leading trade show in the natural, organic and healthy products industry and is rated one of the top 200 trade shows in the US by Tradeshow Week.

Over 60,000 industry partners and 3,000 exhibitors will attend. Garrah will market Kingston as a competitive place to invest as part of KEDCO’s focus on the attraction of food processing and manufacturing business.

Tourism Kingston

Tourism Kingston is proud to sponsor the Kingston Bike Summit which will take place at Queen’s University on March 19.

The Kingston Bike Summit will bring together community stakeholders for discussions on how to improve cycling in Kingston. Guest speakers and panelists will offer sessions focused on Cycle Tourism, the creation of Bike Friendly Business Districts, Building a Bike Friendly Ontario, Active Routes to School, and how Kingston can work towards improving cycling and cycling opportunities in Kingston.

This event will feature several guest speakers who organized the Ontario Cycle Tourism Forum in Toronto on March 1 which was attended by Jacqueline Bell, Sport Tourism Manager. The Kingston Bike Summit presents an excellent opportunity to share some of the education and insight gained from the Forum with community stakeholders about the great potential for cycle tourism in Kingston.
