The Kingston Economic Development Corporation and HGS Canada Inc. are excited to announce the dates of an upcoming Job Fair where the Contact Centre Company, HGS Canada will evaluate the local employment market.

The event scheduled for May 3 – 4 at St. Lawrence College is part of the site selection process for the global company who is looking at a potential new 500-employee site in the area. The site would create hundreds of quality new jobs, which includes both frontline, business support and management level positions.

“This is a good opportunity for the City of Kingston and our regional economy. We are happy to be part of HGS Canada’s selection process,” said Mayor Mark Gerretsen. “We are always looking for new investment in the Kingston community and I welcome HGS Canada Inc. as a new business that will contribute to our diverse local economy.”

HGS Canada’s groundwork for this further expansion into Ontario began earlier this year when the company held prospective talks with a number of potential locations. “We have been looking at a number of potential new locations, but the response we have received in the area so far has been very supportive,” said Ross Beattie, President & CEO – HGS Canada. “Our Team is looking to meet many skilled people to help us in our selection process. Although we are a global company we pride ourselves on being very open, honest and community minded. Anyone wanting to find out about us should visit our website www.teamhgs.com to get a flavor of what we are about.”

Expansion is nothing new for HGS Canada, who has opened three sites in Ontario in the past 2 years. 2010 saw the opening of Thunder Bay, which was followed by North Bay in early 2011 and Belleville in the summer of 2012.

The Job Fair is the perfect opportunity for individuals to find out more about the company and what makes HGS so different in the Call Centre space.

Jeff Garrah, Chief Executive Officer of the Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) said, “We are encouraging all levels of qualified applicants including Customer Support Agents, Supervisors, Trainers, Recruiters, HR, IT support and site management to come to the job fair on May 3rd and 4th to learn more about HGS Canada and meet with the Company’s representatives.” Garrah also added, “It is extremely important for Kingston and the region to show that we have an active and interested labour force to meet their recruitment needs. Our target is to have over 1,500 applicants submit resumes online and at this job fair.”
