KEDCO Board Elects Derek Winton as New Chairman

The Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Derek Winton has been elected as the newest Chair of the Board. His term will begin in January, 2011.

Derek Winton is the former General Manager or Bombardier and brings over 40 years experience working in industry both nationally and internationally.  He joined the KEDCO Board of Directors as a Member-at-Large in 2007 and became Vice-Chair in 2009.

“I’m looking forward to continuing my role with KEDCO is this new capacity.  I would like to continue the good work being undertaken by the Board and support new strategies going forward for economic and business development,” says Winton.

The outgoing Chairman, Shai Dubey says, “I am very pleased that Derek has agreed to be the next chair of the board.  I am confident that Derek and the other members of the KEDCO board will build on the great successes the organization has worked hard to achieve. It has been an honour to work with so many people, both board members and staff, who are committed to the success of our great city.   I wish KEDCO even greater success in the coming years.”

Dubey has served on the KEDCO Board of Directors since 2006 and as Chairman since 2007.  He concludes his official term on the Board in December, 2010.
