Just For Laughs returns to Kingston’s Grand Theatre on Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. with more of its funniest alumni for the Just For Laughs Road Show!
Now in its 14th year touring across Ontario, the Just For Laughs Road Show features four of the best stand-ups straight from the world’s largest and most prestigious comedy Festival:
The evening’s host, Michael Kosta, has performed on Conan, @Midnight, Late Night with Seth Meyers, at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and also starred in his own comedy special, Comedy Central Presents: Michael Kosta. As a host, Kosta acted as a know-it-all correspondent for E!’s spinoff of The Soup, entitled The Soup Investigates. Kosta also once ranked number 864 in the world in professional tennis and earned over $11,000 on tour.
Yannis Pappas is a stand-up comedian and current host of AOL’s Original Series, 2 Point Lead. Pappas’ Half Hour Comedy Central Special aired in 2014 and is available on Amazon, iTunes and whenever Comedy Central re-runs it. Pappas was also the co-host of MSG’s sports fan show, The Bracket and the host of ABC’s Fusion Live on the Fusion Network. He has also been featured on AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live, TRUTV’s How To Be a Grown Up, VH1’s Best Week Ever and Good Morning America on ABC. Pappas has been part of the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, New York Comedy Festival. He is known for popular characters – Mr. Panos and Maurica. K. Trevor Wilson, the self-proclaimed Man Mountain of Comedy, is an award-winning comedian and actor with over 20 years of experience. He is best known for his work as Squirrelly Dan on Crave TV’s Letterkenny, his five Just for Laugh appearances and for competing on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle. Wilson is the 2012 Irwin Barker Homegrown Award winner, the only two-time winner of the Toronto Comedy Brawl, winner of the 2015 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Male Stand-up and Best Taped Live Performance for his album “Sexcop Firepenis,” and back-to-back winner of COCA’s College Comedian of the Year for 2015 and 2016. He has performed all over North America delivering his hilarious stories with his trademark deep baritone voice and has opened for the likes of Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman and Louis CK.
Sabrina Jalees (@SabrinaJalees) is a comedian, actor, keynote speaker and writer based in Los Angeles. While Canadians saw her grow up on Much Music’s Video On Trial and YTV’s In Real Life, Jalees has gone on to appear on MTV’S Failosophy, VH1’s Best Week Ever, Comedy Central’s Adam Devine’s House Party and The Nightly Show. As a stand-up she’s toured North America, England, South Africa and performed at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival several times. She’s appeared on Flashpoint, played a pregnant teen in Lifetime’s Mom at Sixteen and most recently joined the cast of Amazon’s Transparent for a climactic role in the upcoming third season. After wrapping up a writing gig on NBC’s Crowded, she’s writing on NBC’s newest comedy Powerless. When she’s not writing or performing, Jalees can be found on Snapchat, face-swapping with her Frenchie, Cowboy, or secretly recording her wife Shauna.
