It’s often hard to assess one’s own writing, but an objective evaluation can be hard to find. For Kingston Frontenac residents, there’s a simple solution. Award-winning writer Jean Rae Baxter hosts a monthly online meeting for area writers looking for feedback on their work in progress, always on the second Tuesday of the month.
“Are you a writer 18 or older who is already working on a writing project, or who is ready to start one? If you’re interested in meeting online with a small group of other writers to share your work and to give and receive constructive criticism and helpful suggestions you’re most welcome to attend,” shared Anne Hall, Programming and Outreach Librarian.
The next Write On Sydenham Writers’ Group meeting is happening Thursday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. Writers do not need to be residents of Sydenham to attend. Register online or by phone at (613) 549-8888. Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link immediately upon registration and will need to download Zoom in advance.
In order to allow equal time for sharing there are only a limited number of openings each month. Participants are asked to limit the size of the piece they read to eight to 10 minutes in length.
Writers may participate as often as they would like, but need to register for each meeting separately.
