RELEASE — Tired of white-knuckled driving on Hwy. 401? Trade in your car keys for quick, convenient, and affordable travel. Beginning on Monday, Jan. 31, residents in Kingston and the region can fly Kingston to Toronto, via FLYGTA.

FLYGTA service is available to book online with dates serving weekdays and weekends.

“We are thrilled to be landing at Kingston Airport once again and look forward to expanding our service in the coming months,” says Chris Nowrouzi, CEO of FLYGTA Group.

YGK Airport first welcomed FLYGTA flights in 2020, as part of a short-term campaign to support the local tourism industry and safe regional travel during the pandemic. FLYGTA has an excellent safety record and diligently adheres to all federal and provincial COVID-19 safety protocols.

“We were impressed by both the airport facility and the team. But ultimately, our decision to return to Kingston Airport was based on market demand. We see the need for air travel from Kingston to Toronto, and we are proud to provide that service,” adds Nowrouzi.

Airport Manager Aron Winterstein is pleased to see the return of passenger air travel. “Kingston Airport is open for business,” says Winterstein. The manager of the airport says we have been working very hard to return service to the community and hopes this will be the first of many good news stories coming from the airport.

Kingston boasts four Rembrandt paintings, two film festivals, and one vibrant downtown shopping scene. Home to Ontario’s oldest public market, dynamic sports teams and Canada’s hippest live music scene, Kingston is a walkable city, where hidden alleyways contain antique markets and restaurant patios.
