French Conversation Groups
January 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th – ACFOMI Immigrant Services will hold a beginner French Conversation Group on January 5th (10:00am to 12:00pm) and January 19th (5:00pm to 7:00pm). The intermediate French Conversation Group will be on January 12th (10:00am to 12:00pm) and January 26th (5:00pm to 7:00pm) in their office located at 2795 Princess Street.
Come and enjoy this free opportunity to practice and improve your French conversation skills on various topics. Number of places are limited, registration at 613 546-7863.
Multicultural Storytime in French and Portuguese
Multicultural Storytime featuring children’s stories in French and Portuguese on January 14th 2012 from 2pm to 3pm at Calvin Park Library, 88 Wright Crescent, Kingston. Join us as staff from ACFOMI Immigrant Services and volunteers from the Portuguese Cultural Centre read stories in French and Portuguese as well as in English.
Everybody is welcome – children and parents! Multicultural Storytime is part of the Multicultural Library Project, a partnership of Kingston Frontenac Public Library, Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA) and the Kingston Immigration Partnership.
Employment Searching Techniques Workshop
January 3rd and 4th 2012 – ACFOMI Immigrant Services will hold an Employment Searching Techniques workshop in French on January 3rd and in English on January 4th 2012, from 1:30pm to 3pm. You will get valuable information on where and how to look for employment, specifically on the many places jobs are advertised. Information 613 546-7863.
Service & Orientation Workshop
January 18th 2012 – ACFOMI Immigrant Services offers a series of workshops that will provide vital information for your settlement process in Kingston. Many subjects related to establishment will be discussed such as housing, healthcare, financial, social stigmas and community orientation as a whole. Each workshop will provide support to overcome issues you have encountered.
There will be a Q&A period to ensure that your questions, doubts and concerns are voiced and discussed. On occasion, guest speakers will provide more detailed information in their specific field. The next workshop’s topic will be Community Orientation. It will be held on January 18th 2012 from 1pm to 3pm at the ACFOMI Immigrant Services office located at 2795 Princess Street.
