NEW YORK, April 28, 2011 — Crystal Head Vodka was awarded a Double Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition held last month. More than 200 vodkas in total entered the competition; of this, Crystal Head Vodka was one of only a handful of brands to receive a Double Gold Medal in the entire competition.
“We are pleased that all our hard work developing this clean pure spirit is being recognized as the genuine article by expert authorities in the industry,” says Dan Aykroyd. Aykroyd and American artist and painter John Alexander came up with the concept for Crystal Head Vodka in 2007.
Crystal Head Vodka is quadruple-distilled and triple-filtered through Herkimer diamond crystals. Produced from water, sourced from a deep glacier lake in Newfoundland, Canada, it is a Pure Spirit free of any additives such as sugar, glycerin or citrus oil. According to Aykroyd, “Crystal Head prides itself on the quality of its vodka which originates with deep glacial aquifer water from one of the planet’s purest sources – Newfoundland, Canada. The award-winning quadruple distillation and triple filtering processes are achieved at one of the last government-owned facilities in the world – the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Distillery Corporation.”
“This is exciting news for the brand as we continue to gain momentum in the category,” says Jonathan Hemi, Vice President, Globefill Inc. “What’s more, it truly recognizes the brand for the finely crafted liquid inside the bottle.”
Crystal Head Vodka is the fastest-growing ultra premium vodka brand on the market. In recognition of the brand’s performance in its first 18 months, Crystal Head Vodka was named a “Rising Star” by the Beverage Information Group, publishers of Cheers magazine and producers of the annual Cheers Beverage Conference. According to Charles Forman, Editor, Cheers Magazine, “Crystal Head Vodka, through its attractive packaging, product quality and well-timed entrance into the market has shown that even during a challenging economy, consumers are willing to trade up to the right brand.”
According to 2010 data compiled from IMPACT, Crystal Head Vodka reached the one-million bottle mark faster than Grey Goose, Belvedere and Chopin Vodkas.
Crystal Head Vodka continues to gain distribution across the country and can be found in restaurants, clubs and bars as well as wine and spirit shops. It is available throughout North America, the UK, Switzerland and China.
