For the seventh time since its inception in fall of 2008, downtown art galleries are preparing to open their doors for Art After Dark on Thursday  September 29, 2011.

This bi-annual event has been extremely well received by art enthusiasts in Kingston as they flock to each gallery, rain or shine.

This fall’s Art After Dark will begin at dusk (7pm) on Thursday and continue through to 10pm. Each gallery will offer light refreshments, great conversation and compelling works of art.

There are 13 galleries participating in the event and new to the event this year is the Kingston Frontenac Public Library (Central Branch) and the Kingston School of Dance – both a reminder to celebrate art in all of its forms.

The Kingston Public Library, as well as exhibiting some examples of visual art, is also fully stocked with various forms of written art that include literature, poetry, drama, and more.

The Kingston School of Dance is where art comes alive – movement of the human body in dance to create dramatic art.
