Brockville – Looking for something to do for the Family Day holiday?

UPDATE: This is for a previous year’s Family Day. Find information about this year’s Family Day on our Home page.

The Friends of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area and the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority present the annual Family Day Skate on Monday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area.

This is a great chance for the entire family to strap on their skates and come out to the pond and enjoy one of Canada’s great time-honoured outdoor winter recreational activities. Or you can ski the cross-country trails.

From 10 a.m. to noon, you can join in on the ski and snowshoe challenge. Visitors can also whoosh down the ice slide which will be open for the day. New this year is the scavenger hunt, crafts for kids, geo caching and a bonfire for roasting hot dot and marshmallows.

All activities are free and run rain or shine – entrance fee is by donation.

To get to the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area, take Highway 29 north from Brockville to Tincap, turn east on Debruge Road and drive for two kilometres to the main entrance.
