The 23rd annual Chilifest took place Saturday, October 5 in Confederation Park and Kingstonians were happy to warm up from the “chili” weather with delicious samples.
Over $45,000 was raised and all proceeds go directly to support the programs of Hospice Kingston.
Celebrity Judges were put to work once again to sample (and re-sample) the diverse chili varieties available.
With full bellies and burned taste-buds, the judges were pleased to award the following titles for bragging rights:
– Best Ethnic: Sunlife Financial
– Best Tex-Mex: Harper’s Burger Bar
– Best Vegetarian: Sunlife Financial
– Best Original: The Kingston Brewing Co.
– Best Family Style: Farm Boy
– And finally, as voted upon by the public, the award for People’s Choice Favourite Chili went to Harper’s Burger Bar.
