Published on: 2019/06/28 - in Releases

The City of Kingston has issued the following schedule changes and list of closures due to the Canada Day holiday:

The Canada Day fireworks will be in Confederation Basin at 10 p.m. on July 1 and free activities and events are scheduled during the day, including:

  • The City’s Canada Day Carnival at Grass Creek Park, 2993 Highway 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 1 featuring DJ, Kite Fest, carnival games and family fun activities. Find details at CityofKingston.ca/FeatureEvents.
  • The Canada Day Civic Ceremony celebrating this year’s Civic Award winners at noon on Monday at City Hall.

“We live in an incredible country and an incredible community and Canada Day is a perfect opportunity to celebrate both,” says Mayor Bryan Paterson. “I hope you’ll join me for the Canada Day parade, the Civic Ceremony as we celebrate some truly inspiring Kingstonians, or one of the many other family friendly events the City has planned.” All are invited to join the Canada Day People Parade to the Civic Ceremony. It starts at 11:30 a.m. at Princess and Barrie streets.
