Kingston Road Closures & Delays for May 30 to June 5

Please see below for a list of road construction projects and events expected to have an impact on traffic flow this week.

PRINCESS STREET RECONSTRUCTION

– Princess Street is closed from Sydenham to Montreal until mid June and from Sydenham to Clergy until July 1.
– The intersection of Sydenham and Princess is closed until mid June.
– The intersection of Clergy and Princess will be closed until June 30.
– Motorists should expect delays at the intersection of Bagot and Princess while crews complete work.

Businesses on downtown Princess Street remain open and accessible during this project. See CityofKingston.ca/Princess for details and regular updates.

Kingston Transit riders: please note that a temporary stop for routes 2, 4 and 18 has been set up on the south side of Queen Street at Montreal. See detour details at CityofKingston.ca/residents/transit/service-alerts.

WELLINGTON AND PRINCESS CONSTRUCTION

The southbound lane of Wellington Street is closed until the end of September to accommodate construction of the new Scotiabank building at Wellington and Princess. Motorists can access the Angrove Parking Lot off Wellington.

Businesses on Wellington Street remain open during construction.

OTHER CONSTRUCTION ROAD CLOSURES

– Yonge Street from Wolfe to Johnson will be closed until the end of June.

EVENT CLOSURES

These streets will be closed:

– King Street from The Tragically Hip Way to Place D’Armes from 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 to 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 3 for the Monster Trucks Show.
– King Street from The Tragically Hip Way to Place D’Armes on Saturday, June 4 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for the Whiskey Festival.

BEAT BEETHOVEN CLOSURES

These streets will be closed on Sunday, June 5 for the Annual Beat Beethoven Run/Walk event.

From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
– Ontario Street between Brock and King/West streets.
– Market Street between King and Ontario streets.
– Clarence Street between King and Ontario streets.
– Johnson Street between King and Ontario streets.
– William Street between King and Ontario streets.

From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
Earl Street between King and Ontario streets.

CONSTRUCTION DELAYS

Motorists should expect delays on:

– Lancaster Drive and Bridle Path Crescent until early June while crews construct new sidewalks.
– Princess Street from John Counter Boulevard to Parkway (CN tracks) 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday, May 24 until early June to accommodate watermain reconstruction. Two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane will remain open.
– Princess Street from Midland to Gardiners until late May while crews construct a sidewalk.

ROAD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Work to reconstruct the following roadways is underway:
– Princess Street between Bagot and Clergy
– Montreal Street between Queen and Brock
– Sydenham Street between Queen and Princess
– Clergy Street between Queen and Princess
– Front Road Bridge
– Yonge Street from Forsythe to Johnson
