Public Invited to Kingston’s Newest West End Park

Residents are invited to celebrate the opening of Kingston’s newest park next week.

A neighbourhood meet and greet will take place at the new Westbrook Meadows Park on Wednesday, August 17 from 3 pm until 5 pm.

The park is located in Kingston’s west end on Mandara Drive. It features a playground with multi-use sports court, walking trails and landscaping.

In a release, Neal Unsworth, manager, parks development, recreation and leisure services said “The park at Westbrook Meadows is a great example of what happens when Kingstonians get involved and provide feedback on the types of recreational spaces their communities need.”

He also says the Westbrook Meadows Park meet and greet will be an opportunity to recognize all the people who made the project a success.

Light snacks and drinks will be offered at the event – in the event of rain that day, the grand opening will instead take place on Wednesday, August 24.

Westbrook Meadows Park was designed by Basterfield and Associates Inc., Landscape Architects and constructed by Len Corcoran Excavating Limited. The local community also provided input on the conceptual design through the public consultation process.
