Kingston City Police are looking to identify three (3) suspects in a recent, well-coordinated theft at the West 49 store located in the Cataraqui Town Centre.

According to a KPD release, a store security video reveals a male and female enter the store together at approximately 8:41 pm. A lone male then entered the
store seconds after the couple and had the female clerk open the Nixon
watch cabinet and show him a watch.

When the clerk returned the key to the desk area near the cash register the male was able to see where she had placed the key. The male who was looking at the watch had the clerk then show him some shorts at the other end of the store.

The female from the couple who came into the store first ,then asked the other female clerk to help her with some clothes she was interested in.

While the clerks were occupied with the male and female, the other male who was wearing a blue baseball hat and a blue and white checkered shirt then opened the Nixon watch case with the key from the desk area of the cash register and loaded 41 Nixon watches into a West 49 bag.

The male with the watches left the store first. The female then followed seconds after along with the other male leaving seconds after her.

The theft was not noticed by staff at all and the store was closed at 9pm along with the rest of the mall.

Police suspect it is possible this trio could be working the Hwy 401 corridor.
