Taxi Commission and Library Board Seek Skilled Volunteers

The Kingston Area Taxi Commission or the Kingston Frontenac Public Library Board are now accepting applications for skilled individuals interested in volunteering their time to either of the agencies.

According to a release, the Taxi Commission is seeking applicants who have “knowledge and experience in finance, governance or law, or policy development specific to the taxi industry”, while Kingston Frontenac Public Library is looking for people with an appreciation of libraries and have a desire to help the organization pursue its goals.

Applications can be found on the City of Kingston’s Committees page and must be received by Friday, Feb. 7 at 4:30pm. An application package can also be completed in the City Clerk’s Department, City Hall, 216 Ontario St.

The Taxi Commission provides for the licensing, regulating and governing of the brokers, owners and drivers of taxi cabs in the City of Kingston and Loyalist Township. The Kingston Frontenac Public Library Board establishes policies and provides for the education and leisure needs of residents in the region.
