A 42 year old man was arrested earlier this week after attempting to sell stolen tickets for The Tragically Hip on Kijiji.
According to an article in TBnewswatch, the victim of a break-and-enter contacted Thunder Bay Police after seeing his tickets posted on the classifieds website, at which point “two undercover police officers attended a North Court Street address. The ticket seller showed the undercover officers the tickets and was then arrested and taken into custody.”
The man was subsequently charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000.
According to their tour schedule, The Hip are set to perform at the Fort Williams Gardens in Thunder Bay on January 29.
The Kingston based band will also appear on February 4, 2013 at the K-Rock Centre for a home town concert. The band was the first to perform at the K-Rock when it opened in February of 2008.
The Tragically Hip formed in Kingston in 1983 and have since had nine albums reach #1 in Canada and received 14 Juno Awards. They have remained active members of the Kingston community and last year a street running alongside the K-Rock Centre was renamed “The Tragically Hip Way”. (Google maps)
