Kingston residents interested in understanding and engaging with the Sleeping Cabin Program are invited to attend two upcoming events facilitated by Our Livable Solutions (OLS) in partnership with the City of Kingston.
The first event will be held on Monday, June 5, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Reddendale Hall, located on the second floor of Centre 70 Arena, 100 Days Rd. Attendees will have the opportunity to join Chrystal Wilson, Acting Executive Director of OLS, for a captivating presentation at 5:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. To accommodate all attendees, an elevator and accessible washroom facilities will be available.
The second event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kingston East Community Centre, situated at 779 Highway 15. OLS will host a complimentary screening of the documentary ‘Community First, A Home for the Homeless,’ which showcases a successful model for addressing homelessness in Austin, Texas. Following the film, there will be a question-and-answer session focused on Kingston’s Sleeping Cabin Program, featuring representatives from OLS.

Established in 2022 with the support of City Council, Our Livable Solutions, and various community partners, the Sleeping Cabin Program has been instrumental in providing secure temporary housing to individuals transitioning out of homelessness. Since its inception, the program has demonstrated considerable success in assisting these individuals, enabling them to establish stability while they work towards securing permanent housing.
