The City of Kingston will hold its seventh annual Mayor’s Arts Awards ceremony on Monday, November 6, at 7 p.m. Hosted by Mayor Bryan Paterson and the City’s Arts & Culture Services department, the ceremony will take place at Memorial Hall in City Hall. The event is designed to honor five individuals or groups for their outstanding contributions to the arts community in Kingston.

“The Mayor’s Arts Awards highlight and appreciate the amazing talent and dedication within Kingston’s arts community,” said Mayor Bryan Paterson. “By elevating the arts on the City stage, these awards play a pivotal role in enriching cultural vitality and civic identity in Kingston.”

The awards program is administered by the Arts & Culture Services department of the City, in collaboration with the Kingston Arts Council. The recipients of the awards are promoted through the creation of profile videos. Candidates for these awards are selected by a Nominations Working Group, which is appointed by the City’s Arts Advisory Committee and approved by Council. This Working Group consists of community members who are well-versed in Kingston’s arts and culture scene and represent a diverse range of interests, experience, and perspectives.

The ceremony is a free event and is open to all members of the public. Attendees will be offered refreshments, and a cash bar will be available. In an effort to make the event accessible, ASL translation services will be provided.
