School Council to Hold Presentation to Prevent Bullying

On Thursday, November 4, the Limestone District School Board Council Liaison Committee will hold a presentation entitled “Parents, Schools, and Communities Working Collaboratively to Prevent Bullying”.

The presentation – which will take place between 7:00 and 8:30 pm that evening – will feature Dr. Wendy Craig, a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Queen’s University.

Professor Craig is widely published on topics of bullying and victimization, peer processes, sexual harassment and aggression in girls.

She has also co-authored two books on Juvenile Delinquency and Social Development as well as numerous book chapters and articles.

Dr. Craig, who is considered an international leader in research on bullying, works as a Canadian representative with the World Health Organization and UNICEF conducting research and promoting healthy relationships.

This presentation is aimed at understanding bullying, and developing strategies for parents, schools, and communities to identify, prevent, and stop bullying. It will be held November 4 in the Barry C. O’Connor Board Room, LDSB Education Centre, 220 Portsmouth Avenue, Kingston. [map]

Admission is free and there will be  light refreshments available.
