Public Invited to Review Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update

Ideas and options being proposed to support recreation spaces and active fun over the next 15 years will be presented to the public at a Parks and Recreation Master Plan update open house on Monday.

Those options will be presented on Monday, June 3 from 5pm to 7:30pm at the INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd, along with recreation and leisure staff available to discuss your feedback. There will also be a presentation from project consultants Sierra Planning and Management starts at 5:30pm. .

“The feedback received over the past 12 months from residents, user groups and community partners has informed the plan update,” said Luke Follwell, director of recreation and leisure services. “We’re looking forward to sharing the proposed ideas and options, and then implementing the plan to help Kingstonians lead healthy lives.”

According to a City release, the Parks and Recreation Master Plan provides an implementation strategy for the development of parks and recreation services until 2025, including: Arenas, pools, gyms and community centres, sports fields, courts and marinas, parkland and trails, and programming and events.

Children are welcome to attend this event with activity bags containing colouring books, crayons and activities available.
