Michelle Foxton Launches “Solutions Tour” Across Lanark-Frontenac

Michelle Foxton, the Federal Liberal Candidate for Lanark-Frontenac, has announced the launch of the “Solutions Tour: Shaping Our Future,” a series of community meetings aimed at engaging residents from across the riding to discuss their most pressing concerns. The initiative is designed to foster collaboration and provide a platform for residents to voice their ideas, transcending political affiliations to address shared challenges.

For over two decades, Lanark-Frontenac has not experienced the type of grassroots engagement that Foxton’s Solutions Tour represents. Foxton contrasts her approach with that of incumbent MP Scott Reid, noting that he has not conducted a riding-wide initiative of this nature. “Democracy only works when we participate in it,” Foxton remarked. “This tour is about giving everyone a voice, listening to their concerns, and collaborating on solutions to make life better in Lanark-Frontenac.”

The tour begins on Saturday, February 1, with two initial stops. The first event will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Almonte Old Town Hall, located at 14 Bridge Street in Almonte, followed by a second meeting at 2:30 p.m. at Carleton Place Zion Memorial United Church, 37 Franklin Street in Carleton Place.

Additional stops are scheduled for Ferguson’s Falls, Perth, Smiths Falls, Battersea, Sydenham, Plevna, and Sharbot Lake, ensuring accessibility for residents across the region.

Foxton links the Solutions Tour to the broader momentum generated by the Federal Liberal leadership race, which has tripled party membership in the riding. She emphasizes the desire among Canadians for a fresh political approach rooted in fairness, dignity, and respect. “People want leaders who care about their communities, who can work across divides, and who are committed to real solutions,” Foxton explained.

The tour will focus on addressing key issues for Lanark-Frontenac, including economic growth, affordable housing, rural healthcare, climate change, and infrastructure. Foxton plans to use the feedback gathered during the tour to inform her priorities if elected to Parliament. “This is more than just politics — it’s about working together to build a stronger, better Canada for everyone,” Foxton said. “I’m excited to meet residents from every community, hear their stories, and discuss how we can create real, lasting change together.”

All residents are invited to participate in the Solutions Tour, where they can share their thoughts and collaborate on shaping the future of Lanark-Frontenac. Events are open to everyone, regardless of political affiliation, and light refreshments will be served.
