Mea Centre is commemorating its 35th anniversary, highlighting over three decades of service to individuals and families dealing with unexpected pregnancies in the Kingston and Napanee communities. Established in 1989, the Centre has provided a range of free and confidential services aimed at supporting clients in making informed decisions.
The services offered by Mea Centre include pregnancy testing, prenatal education, post-partum support, and parenting classes, reflecting the Centre’s ongoing commitment to adapting to the evolving needs of its community. The Centre’s approach has remained focused on providing compassionate and non-judgmental support to those in need.
In celebration of this milestone, Mea Centre will host a 35th Birthday Celebration on Saturday, September 14, at Lake Ontario Park. The event will feature bouncy castles, games, a silent auction, and a concession stand. Food will be provided by Gino’s Pizza Food Truck, and music will be performed by Doug van der Horden.
“Reaching 35 years is a testament to the unwavering support of our community and the commitment of our team,” said Elizabeth Sacrey, Executive Director of Mea Centre. “As we celebrate this milestone, we also look forward to continuing our mission of providing a safe, supportive environment for anyone facing pregnancy-related challenges.”
Mea Centre continues to uphold its mission to offer resources and support without judgment or discrimination, ensuring that each individual receives the care and respect they deserve. Looking ahead, the Centre plans to expand its services and outreach efforts, reinforcing its role as a vital support system in the Kingston and Napanee areas.
