Local green thumbs and those interested in doing a little landscaping on their property are invited to come to the Lemoine Point Conservation Area for its annual native tree and shrub sale Wednesdays this May 11, 18 and 25 between 9:00am and noon as well as on Saturday May 21, from 9:00am until noon.

All trees are $15 each and the sale takes place at Friends of Lemoine Point Native Plant Nursery, just inside the gates of the Lemoine Point Conservation Area, off the Coverdale Drive Entrance.

“For many years, the Friends of Lemoine Point, in partnership with Cataraqui Conservation, have managed a tree nursery at the north end of the Lemoine Point Conservation Area to grow plant stock for various reforestation activities using seeds and cuttings from native trees and shrubs,” states a prior related release. “Some of these trees and shrubs will be available for sale, with all proceeds going back to support the nursery and the tree stock being grown to support local forestry programs.”

Cataraqui Conservation and the Friends report all public health guidelines will be followed with COVID-19 and physical distancing protocols in place for the protection of staff, volunteers, and visitors. Face masks are recommended but not mandatory to enter the nursery area.

More information and detailed list of species and prices is available online.

Lemoine Point Conservation Area is located in the west end of Kingston on the shore of Collins Bay. There are entrances off Front Road and Coverdale Drive.
