As it returns to pre-COVID transit service levels, Kingston Transit has announced it will be hiring 30 new bus operators.
The bus operator position offers a starting rate of $24.91 an hour – increasing to $30.58 after 36 months – with available pension and benefits.
No previous experience with driving a bus or a large vehicle is required as Kingston Transit will provide one-on-one paid training to ensure each trainee will be able to successfully upgrade from their G licence to a bus licence (CZ).
“It’s no secret that COVID-19 had a major impact on our transit service,” said Jeremy DaCosta, Director of Kingston Transit. “We need to hire more bus operators who can help us rebuild our transit service and keep Kingston moving. Remember – no previous experience driving a large vehicle is required!”
