Landmark & Cineplex Theatres Open in Kingston on Friday

Published on: 2020/07/30 - in News

Both Cineplex and Landmark theatres in Kingston will be open for moviegoers beginning Friday, July 31.

Films scheduled to be shown include classic movies, such as Jurassic Park, Trolls: World Tour, Jaws, Dirty Dancing and Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring listed by Landmark – along with more recent box office entries like The Invisible Man, Wonder Woman, and Sonic the Hedgehog being screened by Cineplex. Both theatres list ticket prices at just $5.00 per person every day and $3.00 on Tuesdays, including applicable tax.

All theatres are limited to 50 patrons per screen and have implemented extensive health and safety measures. Landmark has listed its safety measures here and Cineplex measures can be found here.

Safety steps implemented by Landmark include patrons wearing masks until seated in the auditorium, reducing showtimes and increasing the time between showtimes to eliminate congestion in the lobby areas, requesting moviegoers arrive no sooner than 15 minutes prior to their movie’s showtime, and providing concession queue lines with floor markers for distancing within each lane.

Moviegoers will also be required to follow the instructions of the Landmark Cast member or directional signage and exit by row to ensure proper physical distancing. Alternative exit paths will be used wherever possible to minimize overlap with arriving guests.
