DRAGONS’ DEN will be looking for the next big thing when they hold open auditions in Kingston on February 24, 2017.
The hit series on CBC Television gives aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to pitch their businesses to a panel of wealthy Canadian business moguls – the Dragons – with successful pitchers having a chance to earn an investment from the Dragons themselves.
Local entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to propose their invention or business ideas and get the chance to appear on national television and maybe even the investment of a lifetime.
Participants of all ages are welcome and concepts and businesses can be at any stage of development. Entrepreneurs should aim to pitch their idea to the DRAGONS’ DEN producers in five minutes or less.
You could be invited to take your concept to Toronto, if it looks like you have what it takes to face the real Dragons – including Michele Romanow (Sc’07, MBA’08), a Queen’s University grad.

While at Queen’s, Michelle launched her first business on campus in 2006: the Tea Room, a zero-consumer-waste coffee shop.
She went on to create more businesses, including co-founding Buytopia.ca, one of Canada’s top daily deal sites.
Michelle has been featured on the list of 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, and Forbes chose her as the only Canadian to rank as one of the top 20 most disruptive “Millennials on a Mission.”
For hopeful Kingston entrepreneurs, auditions will be held here on February 24, between 10 am and 4 pm in the Ambassador Hotel & Conference Centre at 1550 Princess Street.
In nearby Belleville, pitches will take place on February 23 from 10 am to 5 pm at Loyalist College (376 Wallbridge-Loyalist Road) in classroom 2H10.
Prospective pitchers can apply online and bring a completed application form to the audition.
