Kingston has been named one of the country’s  top 7 fishing towns for families by an international fishing trips booking agency.

Fishingbooker, described as being the biggest online travel company specializing in organizing fishing trips all over the world, said it included towns that offer ‘family-friendly activities and fantastic angling opportunities’.

When explaining why it named Kingston as a leading location, Fishingbooker wrote:

Kingston has one of the world’s best fisheries right on its doorstep with an incredible variety of fish. Choose St. Lawrence River as your angling spot, and you’ll have the chance to catch largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, pike, muskie, perch, and many others.

If you’re traveling with your kids, one of the favorite local fishing spots is the Thousands Islands National Park. What about other activities? Well, Kingston used to be the capital and is home to many historic sites. The city is also known for a large number of amazing eateries and counter-style joints. If you’re a foodie, you’re in for a real treat!

Communities selected along with Kingston in its list of top Canadian family fishing towns, in no particular order, are:

  • Victoria, British Columbia
  • Niagara Falls, Ontario
  • Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
  • Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
  • Saint John, New Brunswick
  • Lunenburg, Nova Scotia
