Gilmour Point Beach Washrooms Closed Until Further Notice Due to Vandalism

The washroom facilities at Gilmour Point Beach, located at 1763 Wellington Street in Battersea, have been closed indefinitely following an incident of vandalism. The closure will remain in effect until the facilities are thoroughly cleaned and necessary plumbing repairs are completed.

In response to the situation, the Recreation and Facilities department will install a portable washroom at the beach for public use until the permanent facilities are restored.

“We are disappointed to have to close the Gilmour Point washrooms due to vandalism,” said Tim Laprade, Manager of Recreation and Facilities. “Our team will work hard to have the washrooms back open as soon as possible, but unfortunately, they are not in working condition at this time.”

Anyone with information regarding the vandalism or with questions related to the matter is encouraged to contact Tim Laprade, Manager of Recreation and Facilities, at tlaprade@southfrontenac.net or by calling 613-376-3027.
