RMC Cadets to Play for United Way on March 16

More Than 70 Royal Military College cadets will take to the stage to showcase their talent at RMC’s annual Concert in Scarlets on Saturday, March 16, at 2 p.m. at the Kingston Gospel Temple at 2295 Princess Road, Kingston. (map)

The afternoon will be will be filled with a variety of musical numbers with several Cadets getting the chance to perform solos.

The concert features Brass and Reeds, Stage Band, Pipes and Drums, Highland dancers and a choir performing contemporary, traditional, military and highland songs.

“The Cadets are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform a concert for the Kingston Public and to raise funds for United Way while also showcasing the amazing talent our RMC Cadets possess,” said Warrant Officer Catherine Norris. “The cadets have spent many hours rehearsing the music for this concert and we’re sure that the music pieces and Highland dancers will entertain concert-goers of all ages.”

“We are very grateful for all of the contributions that the RMC Cadets make to the local community through the United Way,” said Bhavana Varma, United Way President & CEO. “Cadets and staff volunteer their time to practice for this concert and we appreciate their commitment to helping others. With so many talented Cadets on stage, it will be a wonderful show.”

Tickets can be purchased in advance at: the United Way Office, 417 Bagot Street (map); Cannex (RMC and CFB Kingston) and at the door which will open at 1:30 p.m.

Admission is $5 for students, $10 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the United Way KFL&A.
