The City of Kingston is asking the public to offer its ideas for the future design of new green space in a Cataraqui North neighbourhood, soon to be known as Augusta Common Park.

A public meeting about the various aspects of its recreational features are set to take place between 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23 in Meeting Room A at the INVISTA Centre, located at 1350 Gardiners Rd.

The design options to be discussed are posted for review and comment by residents at this webpage and will be accepted up until June 30.

During the meeting, City staff and the landscape architect they have been working with will present an overview of the new park at Crossfield Avenue at Augusta Drive.  The Augusta Common Park will eventually connect to two new parks planned for this recently developed residential area at Augusta Common West Park and Halifax Drive Park.

Some of the elements in the proposed park design include:

  • a gazebo,
  • two play structures – one for younger and one for older children,
  • and a Biggo swing
