The City of Kingston is collecting old batteries this week, April 25 to 29, week as a public convenience to ensure they are disposed of properly.
You can put out used batteries for collection in a clear, sealed plastic bag beside your curbside waste during this collection week .
The City states you should put used batteries in a clear bag next to your recycling box on the ground or beside another curbside waste container where it can be spotted easily by a collector. Car batteries and other types of large batteries will not be collected.
Batteries can also be dropped off any time of the year at the following locations:
• City Hall, 216 Ontario St.
• INVISTA Centre, 1350 Gardiners Rd.
• Kingston Area Recycling Centre (KARC), 196 Lappan’s Lane
