City to Mow Kilometre of Belle Park Pathways

The City wants to ensure the community is aware that crews will be mowing approximately one kilometre of grass paths in the Belle Park interior soon to improve park user experience.

It describes the mowing as a low-impact approach to improve the 80-acre waterfront park and encourage more active use.

“This initiative is expected to allow park users an improved way to use the site and enjoy its natural summer beauty,” said Neal Unsworth, manager, parks development.

The Belle Park Master Plan, still in development, recommends a phased approach to long-term improvements to the park. The plan includes proposals to increase areas for naturalization and options for recreational activities near the clubhouse and Montreal Street.

Belle Park is located at 731 Montreal St and open to the public from dawn to dusk, accessible by Kingston Transit and the urban K&P Trail.
