The City of Kingston’s outdoor aquatic centre at 303 York Street (map), previously known as SCOTT Aqua Park, will now be named as Tomlinson Aqua Park.
The Scott Environmental Group was acquired by the Tomlinson Group last summer, and requested the name change to reflect this change in ownership.
New signage will be provided by the Tomlinson Group and will be installed in advance of the facility’s opening day on Saturday, June 6, 2015.
“We are a multi-faceted company providing a diverse array of environmental and construction services – and we are excited to be part of the Kingston community. We are proud to put our name on the Aqua Park and continue the existing sponsorship as a key stakeholder, supporting Kingston to be a premier city in which to live, work and play,” said operations manager for Tomlinson Environmental Services, Rose Giugovaz.
According to a release by the City of Kingston, the terms of the original 2013 naming rights agreement are otherwise unchanged. The terms of the name change are available in Report COU-15-212, Outdoor Aquatic Centre Naming Rights Amendment, presented to council at its March 24 meeting – which can be found in the March 24 council meeting agenda at CityofKingston.ca/calendar.
