The Kingston Arts Council (KAC) has announced the opening of applications for the 2024 City of Kingston Arts Fund (CKAF), a funding initiative designed to support the local arts community. Administered annually by the KAC on behalf of the City of Kingston, the CKAF aims to enhance the cultural landscape of Kingston by offering financial support to arts organizations, collectives, and individual artists.
The CKAF plays a crucial role in bolstering the arts sector in Kingston, promoting creativity, social cohesion, and economic development through direct investment. Operating Grants within the CKAF provide yearly financial stability to non-profit arts organizations, whereas Project Grants are allocated for the development and presentation of artistic endeavors that align with the fund’s objectives.
Detailed application guidelines, including eligibility and assessment criteria, are accessible through the KAC website. Applicants are required to submit their proposals via email and are encouraged to reach out to Violet Tang, the Grants and Programs Coordinator, for application assistance or to schedule a consultation regarding their application.
The deadline for submitting applications for both Operating and Project Grants is set for Monday, 22 April 2024, by 11:59 PM EST.
Additionally, the KAC will host an information session for Project Grant applicants on Monday, 18 March 2024, from 5:30–6:30 PM via Zoom. This session, aimed at both new and returning applicants, will offer an in-depth review of the grant guidelines and provide an opportunity for questions and answers with KAC staff.
It is strongly recommended that returning applicants for CKAF Operating Grants arrange a meeting with KAC staff. First-time applicants for Operating Grants must schedule a consultation before 17 March 2024 to ensure eligibility.
For further details, including how to apply, visit the KAC’s website.
