City Announces Nominees for 2016 Celebrating Accessibility Awards

The City of Kingston will be hosting a public ceremony next week to announce winners of the 2016 Celebrating Accessibility Awards.

Winners will be recognized in Memorial Hall at City Hall on Thursday, December 1st between 1 pm and 3 pm.

“All our nominees deserve to be celebrated. Join us at City Hall on December first for the Celebrating Accessibility Awards – recognizing the people and organizations that make Kingston more accessible and inclusive,” said community projects manager, Julie Salter-Keane.

The public is invited to attend the free ceremony (webpage detailing the event requests interested people RSVP here) which will also include a screening of Anna-Karina Tabunar’s film, Talent Untapped.

Produced and directed by Tabanur, a broadcast journalist formerly with CJOH news, the documentary shares personal success stories of people with disabilities finding meaningful work.

This year the award will be presented in seven categories, chosen from the following nominees:
