The Toys for Tickets 2019 campaign brought in 454 toys that will be distributed to local kids over the coming holidays, according to the City of Kingston.
That number far exceeds last year’s campaign – which collected 370 toys – and represents more than $6,500 in parking fines paid for with the toys between November 1 and December 6 in lieu of monetary payments that were waived by the City.
“We had another excellent turnout this year,” said Brad Frink, Supervisor, Parking Enforcement. “It’s great to see so many residents taking time out of their day to turn a parking ticket into a gift for a child.”
The 454 toys will be distributed to children in the Kingston community through a local charity.
