Members of Tallack Martial Arts & Tallack’s Karate Kids Program participated in its 24th Annual ‘Kids Helping Kids Have Christmas’ event this past Saturday and raised more than $3,500 for the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Campaign.

The fundraiser is a part of Tallack Martial Arts’ 500 Technique Challenge, & Skills Competition that was held at Cataraqui Woods Elementary School.

Over 60 members of Tallack Martial Arts, along with Tallack’s Karate Kids Program students from 12 Kingston area primary schools, competed in Skills Challenge events that included “highest kick” “farthest jump kick’ “Most punches in 30 seconds” and more.

The $3,500 donation to the Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Campaign came from community sponsors who provided the funds when the Karate-Kids successfully completed a 500 technique Challenge – 500 consecutive Karate moves, which is enough of a challenge that children as young as 4 can participate in, with prizes were given to the top three fund raisers.

Over $100,000 has been raised by this annual event since it was founded.  Learn more about Tallack Martial Arts at KingstonKarate.com.
