Online Auction to Help Children’s Services Send Youth to College

Published on: 2019/09/05 - in News

Over 70 items are on the auction block this year for Family and Children’s Services 2nd annual Futures Auction – raising money to send the youth they serve to college and university.

A few of the items up for bid for 2019 include:

  • an official autographed jersey from the Maple Leafs Mitch Marner,
  • two tickets to see the Toronto Raptors,
  • your own private concert from local musician Scott Owen,
  • a Haunted Walk and dinner,
  • a tour of Portsmouth Village from Kingston author Merilyn Simonds,
  • and much more.

This past June, Family and Children’s Services achieved a 125-year record when it awarded $70,000 in bursaries to 14 youth.

The online auction was launched last year when it replaced the agency’s charity golf tournament, Swing For Success, to raise funds for this cause. This year’s Futures Auction concludes Saturday, September 21 and has already raised over $8,000.
